How do you spend your hard-earned money? Maybe you’re already disciplined with money and you can control what you spend and what you save. If you’re like me, you know what you should do, but putting that into action isn’t always as easy as it sounds. I’m working to make frugality part of my everyday life and do it in a permanent, life-changing way.
I’ve started this blog to share my thoughts on living a thrifty life. I chose the title The Thrifty Life because it sums up my goal of living a frugal life and stretching every dollar I earn to gain the most value and enjoyment I can.
In order to find the keys to the thrifty life, I’ll be trying as many different techniques and strategies of money management and frugality as I can get my hands on. I’m sure that not every tip will work for you, just like they won’t all work for me. But the goal here is to provide you with a multitude of ideas and let you decide which path to follow. And it is a path – after all this isn’t The Thrifty Minute – it’s The Thrifty Life.
So, thanks for joining me on this journey and let’s get started!

What prompted you to adopt the thrifty life?
@Sarah – Thanks for asking. My family has grown in the past few years. We watched our debt increase as several years of working freelance and founding a startup started to catch up with us. Taking stock of our finances, we decided we wanted to get real about what we needed in life and where we were spending beyond our means. Since then we’ve taken on the challenge of living the thrifty life! Watch for a post in the near future with more on our story.
